Introduction
This page serves as a register of Polish restaurants and cafes around the United Kingdom in August 2024. All regions excepting London are included, as it’s very well catered for already – London based links are included in the the ‘Web Resources’ section near the bottom of this page.
The characters superimposed on the map image reference specific restaurants in the register, there’s no basis to the order / sequencing.
Explanation of the web links in the register:
- Name links trigger the presentation of further information and photos for the selected restaurant
- Location links open the restaurant’s location in the What3Words digital mapping web site
- Information links open the restaurant’s web presence, typically a Facebook page or web site

Anecdotes
When I was a seventeen year old engineering apprentice, my senior work colleagues addressed me with the nickname of ‘Cabbage Eater’, on account of the basic foodstuffs they patronisingly associated with my heritage.

There are hopefully avid Polish cuisine fans who’re aware of Polish restaurants which haven’t been included. I’d be most grateful to receive new and / or updated information, particularly photos and web information, by emailing the following address: pierogi@wozny.org
What3Words Maps
The What3Words digital mapping service, which is launched when clicking on a link in the location column, is significantly more reliable and precise than using postcodes. W3W divides the world into three metre squares, giving each square a unique combination of three words (such as gas.window.capital).digital mapping service used is significantly more reliable and precise than postcodes for specifying exact locations. W3W divides the world into three metre squares, giving each square a unique combination of three words.
- Upon clicking a location link on a mobile device, the W3W web page is opened to enable scrutiny of the chosen destination in a map view. The ‘Navigate’ button which appears can then be clicked, giving the opportunity to use the W3W location as the destination in navigation applications such as Google or Apple maps. W3W is endorsed by breakdown and emergency services. An example of use might be upon breaking down in a remote country lane, whereby a voice call would be made to breakdown services. Using W3W enables communication of the precise location.
- W3W can be useful when planning driving in foreign countries, where determining destination street names / town names for entry into navigation devices can be challenging.
